This horse cup has a handle that resembles a gourd, which is a lucky charm. The horse-mounted cup was created during the Sengoku period in Japan, when it was customary to exchange sake cups on horseback when going to war, and there was a need for a cup that could be held firmly. It is a sake cup with a history that has developed in proportion.

In Japan, it is often used when drinking alcohol, and is also called “Guinomi” or “Ochoko”.
